Protein-Protein and Protein-Membrane Interaction: Experimental and Theoretical Approaches

The Cuban Section of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, the Center for Protein Studies of The University of Havana and The Center for Molecular Immunology jointly with the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and International Union for Pure and Applied Biophysics are pleased to announce the Advanced School/Workshop on Protein-Protein and Protein-Membrane Interaction: Experimental and Theoretical Approaches to be held in Varadero, Matanzas, Cuba, from October 22nd to 26th, 2018.
The School will comprise different topics related to the state-of-the-art of biophysical experimental methods and biomolecular simulations for understanding protein-protein and protein-membrane interactions. The School is oriented to postgraduates and young researchers seeking for experimental and theoretical studies of protein-protein and protein-membrane interactions, essentials for biotechnology and bio-nanosciences. The course has been conceived in 16 lectures in the mornings and exchange sessions during afternoons between lecturers and students. Scientific discussions between students and lecturers will be encouraged in other spaces as well.
This course will validate credits for the PosLatAm program. IUPAB will cover partial expenses of PosLatAm selected students! So, students from PosLatAm are encouraged to apply.
Applications to the Advanced School/Workshop must be sent before May 31st, 2018, to advanced.school18@gmail.com with copy to advanced.school18@fbio.uh.cu. Application form will contain the following information:
-Personal information
– Full name (Mr. or Ms.)
– Date of birth (dd/mm/yy)
– Scientific degree and academic position (Graduate, PhD or Postdoc student)
– Institutional affiliation
– Area of professional research/interest
-The title of the poster presentation, authors, authors’ affiliation, and an abstract not exce-eding 250 words
-A letter from your supervisor explaining the interest in the course
-Your curriculum vitae (maximum 2 pages for CV)
-A brief statement (less than 250 words) explaining your personal interest in the course
It is foreseen that around 50 young scientists from different geographical regions could attend the Advanced School. They will be partially or completely financially supported by IUBMB and IUPAB grants as well as other sponsors.
