Connecting Globally: Highlights from the 14th Annual ATP1A3 in Disease Symposium

We are thrilled to look back on the incredible success of this year’s Symposium, which took place at the Paris Brain Institute within the La Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris, France, from Thursday, 24 September until Saturday, 26 September 2026. The meeting was organized by the French AHC Family Association (AFHA) and its Scientific Committee. It was hosted as a hybrid event, gathering 174 in-person participants and 17 online attendees from 21 countries.

Before the main scientific program kicked off on Friday morning, we hosted a dedicated, half-day session specifically for family members, including patients affected by ATP1A3 disorders. This intimate gathering provided a vital space for sharing experiences, gaining support, and connecting with others walking a similar path.

The core two-day symposium featured a packed and inspiring program with 31 expert speakers. Presentations bridged the gap between science and daily reality, covering critical topics such as basic and clinical research breakthroughs, updates on upcoming and ongoing clinical trials, and powerful, first-hand stories of lived experiences. A total of 15 posters were showcased, with two selected for oral presentations.
