IX POSLATAM Course, November 21-25, 2016

This course will be held at the Universidad Nacional de Tucumán in San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina, and will be closely related to the XLV Annual Meeting of the Biophysical Society of Argentina.
This course will introduce key concepts in fluorescence microscopy. It’s goal is to provide a solid background in both the theoretical concepts and practical skills in quantitative fluorescence microscopy with applications in biological research. It is designed to update the students in modern topics of biophysics and to give them the opportunity to interact with professors and students from other countries.
The aim is to provide an environment of collaborations in order to provide the better development of biophysics in the South American Region. The proposed structure of the meeting will have the dynamics of conferences and workshops to discuss and recognize the central role of experimental activity, presenting and discussing examples developed in the region (particularly Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Chile) where the knowledge of the biophysical basis of the processes have led to successful applications in the field of biotechnology.
Topics will be introduced in lectures, and computer labs will give the students hands-on practice on different image analysis strategies.
